Affiliate Marketing For Beginners

You may have heard the saying “the money is in the list”, well it is, a good list can earn you between 50 cents to a $1 for each subscriber per month, that may not sound like a great deal at first, but a small list of 1000 subscribers earning you on average $500 -$1000 per month isn’t too bad!

Free and affordable traffic for your site…

Most people think targeted traffic must be expensive to get. It’s not… if you’re prepared to put in some work and do routine tasks.

The fun way to build a free and affordable web site traffic system is to simply start using free traffic as your basic traffic building method.

You need to write pages of content and research search engine optimization so you can get these pages ranked quickly. Make sure you get suitable keywords at Wordtracker.com to find out what your target market wants.

Find keywords and and go for ones that are popular but have almost no competitive pages. There are loads of these keywords out there if you look hard enough.

You’ll succeed if you find more and more keywords and you keep linking to your sites too. Make sure you do deep linking to sub-pages so you can rank well for all pages of your site.

Create a blog (with SEO)

If you want to create a blog, the process is simple, quick and free with any of the many blog hosting services. When you create a blog page, give your topic and writing style a bit - quite a bit - of thought before simply jumping in and hoping for the best. Getting it set up to show prominently on Google or other search engines is not quite so easy, however.

Let’s start by considering just the blog itself. The most important step is your topic. Passion for your subject is what ultimately breeds success with your readership. When you create a blog, select a subject that fills you with excitement, curiosity and a desire to share with others. This makes words flow easily and nurtures an untiring commitment, so necessary to long-term success. It also makes your posts easier to read, more interesting, and mor likely to attract attention.

Whether you just need someone to set up WordPress on your server or if you’d like to have someone ghost write articles for you three times a week, you can discover tons of these companies in a free ebook called Outsource Compendium or read the rest of this article.

A Static Website vs. A Blog, Which One Does Google Love More?

Let me share with you a mini-test that I did to validate that Google likes Web 2.0 websites better than they like static sites. I did my standard keyword research on the term “dr phil” and got 6.8 million results. That was way too many results to even contemplate ranking against. So I narrowed down my keyword to “ask dr phil” and got about 6,000 results. Clearly, this keyword was much easier to rank for.

And the result of the competition for Google’s love was: static website vs. blog? Read it at Alex Tran’s blog.

What is Internet Blog Marketing

So you have been hearing all about these blogs that are all the rage lately in the internet world. However, you have yet to start one of your own, and pretty much figure that you are the last person on earth that does not have one. While you may think that this is true, you are going to be shocked that not everyone has a blog, and most of those that do, have them for internet blog marketing purposes. Internet blog marketing is all of the rage just as much as blogs are. When you talk about internet blog marketing, you are meaning that you use the internet to market things on your blog. That would be the most simplest way to put it.

Marketing things on the internet is not as easy as it was just a few years ago. Everyone is into marketing online because of the pay per click programs that everyone wants a part of. And that means that the competition is fierce. In order to market things online and become successful at it, you need to choose a market. You can not just use one single blog to market a number of things unless they are all relevant. If you tried, you would really get no where and fast.

10 Tips for a Profitable Blog

There’s no doubt that more businesses are realizing the power of blogging to establish their expertise, rank higher at the search engines, and improve their communication with prospects and customers.

But as more companies jump into the blogosphere it becomes more difficult for your blog to get noticed, and therefore to make you money. Here are ten quick tips to make your blog a profitable marketing tool.

1. Blog for your audience. As the blogosphere matures, the face of business blogging is changing as well. Although the discourse can still be freer than your Web site or email newsletter, people want content they can use. A few posts in a row about what you had for breakfast and you’re toast.

2. Make your blog search engine friendlier. Blogs are search engine friendly by design. By choosing keyword-rich category names and writing keyword-rich post titles you can greatly increase your search engine visibility and drive more qualified leads to your site.

3. Engage your most active commenters. Some blogs naturally attract more comments because of their popular or controversial topics. You can increase the comments on your blog by responding to each commenter in an email, linking back to or commenting at their blogs, and mentioning them by name in later posts.

4. Comment on influential blogs in your niche. Find the influential bloggers in your niche(s) through a Technorati search and read their posts. When you have something intelligent to add to the conversation, comment away. These comments create links to your own blog, and should drive some more traffic your way.

5. Submit your site to blog directories. When I started developing Web sites getting listed in Yahoo took an email. Now it takes $299…a year. Submit your site while it’s (mostly) free. Here’s a list of blog directories to get you started.

6. Promote your blog’s newsfeed. Every blog platform creates a feed for syndication, but some blogs don’t have it easily available. Make sure your is obvious.

7. Add an email subscription. Although newsfeeds are important, not all of your readers will understand how to subscribe to one. Everyone, however, understands how to subscribe to an email newsletter. I recommend using Feedburner for this task, as it also allows you to easily create newsfeeds and track subscribers.

8. Ping news aggregators. There are dozens of Web sites out there that want to know when you update your Web site. Take advantage of their insatiable hunger by “pinging” them: by letting them know each time you update your blog, they’ll help you get the word out faster. I recommend Pingoat as it allows you to ping about 50 of these sites at a time.

9. Include social bookmarking links. Getting a post into Digg, del.icio.us, StumbleUpon, or any of the popular social networking/bookmarking sites, can generate thousands of additional page views. Make it easier on visitors to promote your posts by including links to these services within every post.

10. Leverage your blog traffic into real business. Don’t forget that this is your business blog, not your personal one; you’re looking for a return on investment. Create appropriate calls-to-action in the form of links that drive traffic from your blog to your Web site or online store.

Just don’t be too heavy handed; visitors won’t become subscribers or customers if you’re doing nothing but self-promotion. Use a deft hand to establish your expertise and build relationships with readers, but make it easy for them to buy from you when they’re ready.

While every item in this list will help make your blog more profitable, pay most attention to the first and last tips. Blog for your customers because nothing else will have an impact if you don’t focus on their needs. Blog for your business because the purpose of a business blog is to help your company grow and succeed.

Why is Google going after sponsored review blogs?

Ever since bloggers and merchants realized that sponsored or paid reviews paid off handsomely, a whole industry has grown up on this. All of which was built on a common denominator - Google’s PageRank.

Advertisers sought to get links back to their websites, with which they hoped would result in better search engine rankings.

Bloggers found out that writing lots of paid reviews resulted in earnings they could not have dreamed about previously - some even went on to make thousands of dollars a month! Google was aware that its PageRank system was being abused, but only recently took action. And that was drastic action indeed.

The most recent PageRank update saw many blogs’ (which had paid reviews on them) PageRanks reduced drastically - to zero in most cases. Some people say Google was acting unfairly, while others saw it as a direct targeting of PayPerPost (which was the biggest sponsored review network).

I for one see this as just a protectionism act on Google’s part - Google is entitled to protect their PageRank from being treated as a currency, which was traded around to manipulate its search engine results. Yet at the same time, I do think the measures taken were too harsh for many small time bloggers, which encompassed many that were only earning a few hundred bucks a month from writing paid posts.

Currently, the dilemma faced by many bloggers who were doing sponsored reviews is whether to keep on doing it, or to give it up altogether and file a PageRank reinstatement appeal. This act by Google has definitely made it harder for many small bloggers to essentially live off their blogging, and can be seen as a direct hit on the entire blogging universe/industry as a whole, relegating many bloggers who had previously been earning a living from their blogging, back to their dayjobs. Unless these bloggers couldn’t care less about PageRank, this move by Google is more than enough to scare many bloggers back to reality, which is essentially that blogging can never be a sustainable profession for the vast majority of them…Sad indeed, and with far reaching consequences than most would realize.

If you’ve been hit by Google’s PageRank slap, here is some advice on how to go about requesting a PageRank reinstatement.

List Building Tips | Opt In Email

List Building Tips by Steve Renner

Emails are replacing regular mails from the post office. Not only because it is cheaper, since you do not need to buy a stamp, it’s also definitely faster. Emails can be sent in as fast as five seconds, depending on the server, anywhere in the world.

No doubt emails are being used to distribute newsletters, promotional mails, and other stuff. How then would you be able to round up email addresses to send those marketing mails you have? Here is where an opt-in list comes in.

An opt-in list is a directory of email address you can send to those mails to. Though it seems to be easy to find email addresses, if you are talking thousands in numbers, it is going to be hard. Besides, you have to determine the recipient of the email. You wouldn’t want your readers mostly male if you are selling lipsticks, right?

A good opt-in list should include the profile of the email address owner. Here are tips on how to create a comprehensive opt-in list for target market.

The Advantages of SEO Training

Search engine optimization, or SEO, refers to the process of increasing your websites position in the search engines results pages of search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN. In today?s competitive online marketplace, failing to leverage search engines to drive traffic to your website is a big mistake, especially when it is inevitable that your competitors will be doing exactly that. When it comes to deciding how to commit to SEO, some businesses choose to outsource to an SEO company or an SEO consultant however other businesses choose to undergo SEO training as a means of ensuring they have the in-house skills necessary to guide strategy, allot resources and truly represent the long-term goals of their business. Following are reasons why investing in SEO training for your IT or marketing function is better than fully outsourcing SEO to a sub-contractor and leaving your position in the search engines fully in their hands.

Once you’ve found another theme you want to use to change up how your blog looks, you will have to first get the theme, and then move those files to your web host to be used. This is called transferring the files and it’s done through a process of FTPing.  You can use a free ftp client like Fireftp for doing this.

What Is Web Hosting And Why Do I Need It?

and why would you need it anyway? It’s a great question that deserves at least a decent answer. One of the first things I taught to my students was this concept of where their website was actually located. In order to view a website or a blog, it has to have a home, a place to live on the internet. The files, images and content have to be on a server somewhere in the world so that when your domain name is typed in, it displays what you want it to display. That answers the question .

Internet Marketing By Blogging

An article short about Blogging

Of course, even for people who have spent months or years blogging, money from advertising revenue may not add up to a large sum. The amount of money that you can make as a blogger depends on a lot of different factors, but perhaps the most important element of the equation is the topic of your blog. If your blog is on a subject that appeals to a demographic that advertisers have a strong desire to reach, you will be more likely to be able to turn a large profit on your blog than if your blog is on a fairly obscure subject that does not draw the kind of audience that advertisers need to appeal to.

Of course, the only way to find out where you fall on this spectrum is to try hosting some ads. If you are already blogging, you have nothing to lose.

Google An Extra Income

Everyone is striving to earn a buck in this capital-based world we share. We all need to make ends meet and hopefully save a little for the future. That’s the routine as we know it. As it has been for years now, the question is still “How do I do this?’ What is the best way to earn a living in 2007 and actually enjoy what I’m doing on a daily basis? This of course depends on the individual. Now, I can tell you one extraordinary way tons of people are making a living or at least earning some extra dough. It’s called being a web publisher. You CAN make money with Google adsense.

The word adsense may be a bit foreign to some. It definitely was to me a couple years ago. I couldn’t have told you a single thing about building websites or Internet ads that earn revenue. But today is completely different. I’ve realized what many people before me. One can make money with Google adsense just by creating websites. Just so you know, it’s not challenging to acquire a Google adsense account. You can literally do it within minutes. Then comes the money-making. To put it all in layman’s terms, you basically do this; build decent websites, write quality material for them, and then place relevant ads on the websites. When Internet browsers spot your page, they can click on the ads, and this causes you to earn revenue. Your earnings are later dispersed to your Google adsense account, and then finally to you. It probably sounds totally bizarre, but this is a legitimate way that people make money with Google adsense and the Internet.

Trust your gut! Who cares if you’ve never tried this before? This is where every web publisher begins. You have to take hold of the reigns and get in the game. This is an excellent way to supplement your income, or just make extra cash in your free time. Some folks even go all-out and do this for a living. They make money with Google adsense and have the freedom to work totally from their homes. Does this sound like a career move for you? Well stop wasting time, and start earning revenue! There’s a sea of cyberspace possibilities waiting for you out there.

All else being equal, the blog template counts in SEO

It’s quite important to get a good template for your blog, if you want the search engines to crawl your page better. Now in my case, I’m always on the lookout for a better blog template for my blog but currently I cannot find a good one that is free of charge and to my liking.

Most WordPress templates that are free suck, it’s true. Either that or pay a designer to design one for you in which case, I think I’d rather not pay $300 for a custom template right now, which is what current designers charge at a minimum.

I am fully aware that if you want your blog to rank well in the search engines, getting an SEO optimized blog is part of the whole SEO deal.

But if you can and are willing to fork out $300 - $1000 for a customized theme, then go ahead. Its your call. But know that your SEO really can improve along with your theme, I guarantee that. Just make sure your content is as good as your theme :)
