SEO Advice – Is ANY Web Traffic Okay?

SEO Advice – Understanding That Any WebSite Traffic Isn’t Always the Right Traffic

A lot of SEO Experts will tell you that when you pick the wrong keyword phrase to market your business, you won’t make as much money. They claim that proper Google Keyword research is a must.

But can you actually lose money marketing yourself with the wrong keyword?

This would be a virtual certainty if you choose a generic keyword. Lets say you are trying to get the word out about your shoe store. You seriously devote yourself to designing your website and formulating your marketing efforts all around the generic Google keyword “Shoes.”

Your website could potentially show up for searches to do with shoe manufacture, shoe repair, ballerina shoes, horseshoes, brake shoes and therapeutic shoes.

If your website shows up every time someone searches for any of the things that you don’t sell, chances are, someone is going to click on your website. You have to pay for all that bandwidth or hosting service that people use up opening your website by mistake, you have to pay staff to answer any of the e-mails you get from people who wonder if you’ll ship shoe uppers in bulk to Warsaw, and worse, you’ll have been spending money on getting top billing on the search engines for your keywords of choice. People make the mistake of thinking that traffic is always a good thing. They just get mixed up thinking about traffic the way an Internet marketing company does.

For retailers and other businesses, the right SEO advice would be all about choosing the right keywords for actual business and not just for traffic. This is the SEO advice you need to help you pick the right keywords. You need targeted keywords to market yourself.

You need to think of how real customers think to search: they aren’t going to just type “Shoes” in there at all. Rather, they’re going to type in something specific like “trail running shoes” or “cheap party shoes in Jackson Height, Brooklyn”. You need to take a close look at the kind of people who actually come to your store or might be interested in doing so, and think of all the different ways they might look for your product on the search engines. And that means forgetting one-word or two-word keyword phrases altogether.

There are lots of different ways that people tend to refer to the same thing. If you’re dealing in running shoes, people can search for “running gear”, “runners”, “nikes”, “sneakers“ or any number of other words. You need to use the Google keyword suggestion tool to find the best words for your purposes. Oh, and don’t forget that lots of people can end up spelling words incorrectly. Just because people like to spell them as “footwares”,” nikeys” or “sneekars”, doesn’t mean you don’t want to do business with them. For each keyword that you actually seriously consider, you should probably do a search yourself to see what kind of results come up. In fact, you need to use the tools that Google gives you to find out what keywords your competition is using, and take a hint from them.

Need help with your AdWords campaign? AdWords specialists will give you all the help you need

Feel frustrated about how your articles are faring in Google or any other search engine? Heard about AdWords specialists? Their services may be what you need, however, reading through this article will also give you a better insight into what needs to be done.

The clickthrough rate you achieve with your AdWords campaign is an essential element when it comes to generating more sales and boosting your conversions. A low CTR means that the quality of your campaign will diminish, leading to a lower number of visitors. High quality ads and a good CTR are key to a successful campaign, meaning you need to take the right action to ensure you achieve this. In this article, we will discuss some strategies you can implement to generate a better clickthrough rate for your ads. Pay attention that your properly theming your ad groups. Doing this is what it will take to reach out to your target audience who will be most likely to click on your ads. If people are searching for terms that involve restaurants or hotels in a specific location it would be wise to keep “restaurants” and “hotels” in different groups. If you really want a higher CTR then it’s often the common sense approach, like this, that works best – especially when it comes to an AdWords campaign. People search for information by typing in specific, targeted, terms – make sure those terms are included in your ad. Of all the things you can do to improve CTR this may be the most important. The highlight feature is a massively useful tool as it will highlight the keywords or search terms that are being used in the ad. When you make use of the highlight feature in combination with powerful placement of keywords in the headline, URL, and description it becomes an unstoppable combination. This helps in drawing the attention of your target audience towards your ad and makes it stand out from the rest. This is so effective for advertising because it simply highlights to your audience that you have exactly what they are looking for. Separate Your Content Ad Campaigns: While the content network won’t affect your CTR it can make thinks complicated when you are trying to determine what CTR your campaign is delivering overall. You need to separate them into two different campaigns because it will make it easier for you to get a good view of your results. This will also get things easier when it comes down to viewing and evaluating the conversion data in a better way. The clearer your data from your campaign, the better results you will generate in the long run. The aforementioned suggestions are easy to apply to an AdWords campaign and you will see your CTR increase. However, you need to remember that to get the best results from your campaign, you need to apply all the tips in this article to gradually grow your CTR. Everything from the description to your ad’s headline needs to be tested and tweaked consistently to ensure you get the best possible return from your campaign.

With proper adwords campaign management, you can be sure to have your articles at the top of Google search.

Google 1′s for sale!

Now that Google’s new baby, Google Plus, has been up and running (if only in the trial phase) for a few weeks now, it is probably not that surprising to see that there are now SEO companies jumping on the bandwagon and offering Google 1 packages for sale!

Google 1′s are the equivalent of the Facebook ‘Like’ function and are a way of you being able to recommend websites, articles, posts etc on social networking sites.

I think it is obvious that Google intend to somehow use a website’s 1′s to help decide their ranking in the serps but while this option of buying plus ones to help boost your rankings may be a quick fix solution, long term it may well do more harm than good!

After all, this practice is strictly against Google’s 1 policies and stands to reason therefore that at some point Google will find a way to stop this and penalise those who have benefited from it.

Personally I believe that whilst the ‘white hat’ seo practices may take you a little longer, it’s time well spent in the long run!

Top Social Networking Sites Causing Revolution

The top social networking sites have been used for lots of things getting back with long lost friends to driving lots of traffic to your websites but now they have found a new calling and it does for their reputation things that most other companies would give their eyeteeth for. They have been used to help throw together the earth shattering revolutions that have rocked the Middle East over the past few months. So what are Facebook and other social network sites doing with this newfound social capital that they have are they strutting around calling themselves the saviors of democracy and human rights?

Not Exactly they have been studiously avoiding looking like they had anything to do with how those revolutions came about. Why are they doing this? Let’s face it democracy is not really to be found in most places on earth. Almost all of Asia, large parts of South America, all of the Middle East and nearly all of Africa even Russia and the former Soviet republics all these places are ruled by unelected or elected by no fair means dictators. If the top social networking sites began to strut about wearing their newfound democratic credentials on their sleeves, the rulers of three-quarters of the countries of the world would begin to fear for their grip on power and kick the social networks out. Can you even imagine what’s probably going on in the minds of the rulers of Saudi Arabia a country that bans social networking or Libya or Syria? These barely-elected or unelected rulers must be sitting around trying to think of new ways to cut the e revolutions off at the source. For instance, Facebook hasn’t been in Syria for very long. If the rulers of Syria heard a lot about how Facebook was proud of its usefulness to people who fought for democracy, wouldn’t Facebook face a quick and undignified exit in that country?

Just in case you thought that the top social networking sites were trying to keep a low profile in order that they can help these budding revolutions use their services to the best effect, consider what Facebook did in Egypt. Facebook has this rule that you need to sign up with your true identity even if it is widely ignored by lots of regular people. When a hero of the successful Egyptian Revolution, the Google employee Wael Ghonim was found to be using a Facebook account he opened under a false name to use for the revolution. Facebook promptly shut down his account citing their rules and regulations. If Mr. Ghonim had used his real identity, the authorities would have been on to him and the other activists using the page in a second. The authorities did manage to find out in the end that it was he who was behind that Facebook page and the whole world knows now that he was arrested and tortured.

The top social networking sites are so scared for their bottom lines now that it has taken a political figure like Senator Durbin to come out and call out Facebook for what it’s doing. Facebook for its part has practically ignored the call. Happily though, Twitter isn’t so worried about its bottom line. When Egypt cut off Internet access to the entire country to keep protesters from using the top social networking sites, Twitter stepped in and tried to restore partial access by allowing tweets through the phone. What does it mean to be a really successful social networking site today? The main uses for social networking sites is keeping in touch with friends, lots of internet marketers use the social networks for driving traffic to their sites, so much so that there are even products to do this for you the latest is called Instant Social Anarchy. In today’s volatile climate this seems quite apt are the social networking sites responsible for revolution in countries I don’t think so they are just another way for people to group together and plan for democracy. Social network sites are here to stay but how we use them could change?

Web site traffic with search engine ranking optimization

The old saying ‘you need money to make money’ is mostly true. However on the net it’s not always true. With what the net offers you there are a ton of ways to make money without spending any. Of course if you have some to spend you will make more money faster but there are many ways to optimize the profit potential of your site and get free web site traffic.

What you need is the proper mind set, a lot of drive and excitement and the perserverance to do the work and research to get more traffic to your site. Sure there are ways to get traffic started but they cost money. These are all free ways to generate traffic to your page or website.

It is nice to have more traffic without spending money and it’s true that many sites have articles and tips on how to generate traffic using only free methods. You really don’t need to spend one single penny. It does take time and you can get traffic faster by paying for it or paying for ads for your site but with these free ways you get a fighting chance at making some big bucks, or at lest enough to be able to hire someone to help you.

If you’ve read all the previous pages you know that search engine ranking requires you to do some optimization work which isn’t all that hard. You also need to find link partners and do some directory submission.

Getting the right words on the page isn’t all that hard to do. Somewhere between 2-6% of your words should relate to the keywords you are optimizing for. Then you’ll also want to use some synonyms of those words for the latent semantics that Google likes.

In other words search engines don’t want to see the same words used all the time. You don’t talk that way so don’t write that way. For instance, submission can mean submitted, submit, send, etc. Just use different words that mean the same thing.

After you have the page built I recommend the first two place you submit to are DMOZ and a Yahoo directory submission. Yahoo will cost some money and if you can’t afford it don’t worry about it. Do it when you can as it will really help your search engine ranking optimization.

Website Marketing Strategies for Website Content Positioning

One of the first steps to creating a website is making a webpage and consideration of the website content positioning. This table trick lets you position your keyword rich text above the navigation menu so you get a higher search engine ranking.

This website content positioning trick isn’t used by a lot of people. It never has been because it’s hard to make software that doesn’t mess up the table. That means most who use this are doing their sites by hand rather than with a wysiwyg editor.

Using this page below gives you a huge advantage over those who don’t use this type of content positioning. It’s just one of the little tricks you pick up in learning the steps to creating a website, if you want your page to rank as high as possible.

These website marketing strategies will work on any site but it’s best for content positioning on a blog. It’s simple, it’s free and it works for getting more traffic to your website even if you are an absolute newbie.

I have several blogs where I make posts 3 times per week. The main purpose of my blogs is to get deep links to some of my other sites pages. However it’s also nice to get targeted traffic to my blog and make some money fron it. Positioning your keywords in the SE for your content is what today is all about.

I was considering charging five bucks for this tip but then I decided most of you are newbies so why not help you out with your traffic and keywords. The nice thing about it is not many people are doing it so click the link above to check it out now.

You’ve probably heard horror stories about how hard it is to optimize for search engines and get rankings high enough to generate decent amounts of traffic. Lol, I always find those stories amusing and you certainly here them a lot from the guru’s. Of course that’s a guru’s business isn’t it. Getting you to buy an optimization product is his goal. He can’t sell you anything if he tells you it’s easy.

Search engine optimization tips
I was putting up a new site yesterday, a blog about nothing. It’s called miscellaneous talk because I’m going to use it for various different posts and to get links to posts and pages on my other websites and blogs.

Just so you know, it’s a wordpress blog and I use a few plugins on it. One for title, description and keywords, one for social bookmarking and another for adsense ads.

I also have a thing in it that pings google to let it know there has been a new post and to come look at it for inclusion in the google blog search. Unfortunately that was the first thing I put in.

Like a dummy I put it in before the site was done and while creating the site I’d made a few test posts and tried a few different arrangements. Then I discovered a problem with some of the links not working.

If you are looking for a recurring income system and want lots of traffic then a site with recurring monthly income is the way to go. You can either start your own and earn all the recurring commissions or you can become an affiliate of a site that has a recurring income system and make a little less in recurring monthly income but not have to deal with all the hassles of members if you own your own web site.

The ‘gurus’ are discovering or rediscovering passive income systems and recurring monthly revenue. I’m not to sure where they’ve been for the last 12 years because almost everything I was doing was based on recurring income with an affiliate web site.

I’ve been getting recurring commissions for the last 12 years. Of course that’s selling adult ID’s to adult sites. There was very little in non adult that had recurring monthly billing until recently. Recurring monthly revenue is common on adult sites. There are also non adult sites that have a recurring monthly or even twice monthly or lots of other things that are recurring on a monthly basis. When you find one that sells well for you put it up every where you can and promote it.

Yes, link exchanges can work very well if they are done correctly.

SEO – Changes to SENuke

Back in its early days SENuke was not nearly as feature rich as it is now.

When I first signed upI logged into the forum and a couple of people were saying there had been some niggles and I was a little put off by it. I was even a little bit angry they had taken many of the tasks I do regularly and put them into an interface.

I had to either do it by hand my way or learn how to use their system. At the time they did not really have all the features I would have liked so switching to the tool was not worth it.

The Dangers of Unethical SEO

I have just published a new article on The Dangers of Unethical SEO

There are terms and conditions laid out by major search engines such as Google™, Yahoo!™ and MSN™ that prohibit the use of techniques such as link bombing, textual spamming, cloaking and other unethical search engine optimization methods. Ethical Search Engine Optimization should always conform to these terms and conditions; if not, any results gained for your site and the money you pay could prove not only ineffective but very counterproductive when the search engines discover how you cheated your way to the top.

Search Engine Optimisation and High quality Content

I have just added a new article on Why Search Engine Optimisation needs High Quality Content.

Look at it from the search engines perspective. Their number one goal is to make sure when someone types in a phrase, that they take them to a page on the web that is the closest match to their search query. They are looking for what they call “authority”.

In fact people online are looking for the authority site for what they are searching for. Authority gives customer satisfaction, retention and explodes like word of mouth. Everyone’s time is limited, they want to be taken to the best site for the term they searched for.

pointing to your site.

How Google’s PageRank Determines Search Engine Optimization

The process of using links to determine search engine ranking is called link analysis. Keyword searches and link analysis are both part of a routine internet search engine procedure called Search Engine Optimization. As 2006 faced its last weeks, Google was the internet search engine that most internet users preferred. Most of Google’s popularity is credited to its preferred form of search engine optimization, a trademarked program Google dubbed PageRank. PageRank is based on the link analyses algorithm. Each time it finds a hyperlink to a webpage, PageRank counts that hyperlink as a vote that supports the webpage. Google has designed PageRank to be an eight-unit measurement.

Let Google’s Algorithm Show You The Traffic

This report shows how to use the new alogrithn from Google to bring more traffic to your website and increase page ranking. I hope you will find it helpful.

Briefly listed below are some of the main ranking factors you should be optimizing your web pages for in your marketing. The majority of these ranking factors will be very familiar to most webmasters who take full advantage of any and every SEO tactic which will give their site an edge over their competition.

Here are some of the main ranking factors to consider:
