Selling Information Ebooks with a SalesLetter
Today as you may have heard it before, the information self publishing industry has been getting bigger and more popular. You know what I mean- creating ebooks and submitting them to ClickBank. Many will tell you that its easy, but its really not always very easy to be successful. In order to be successful you have to know a few things. Here are some ideas to throw out there before you get started:
Is there much of a demand for your information? Are there people willing to pay for it? Am I going to be able to get traffic to the offer whether by attracting affiliates or playing the search engine optimization game?
I have heard it before that gurus will recommend to find a small little niche. That is really usually not a good idea. You really want to go where the traffic is. You want to find a topic that has alot of traffic and if their is competition, thats usually a good sign. Its a sign that people are making money and you can butt in to that money making oppurtunity. I started out with a small niche and it took alot of work for very few sales so then I decided to take the easy way out. By writing an ebook about information that alot of people wanted.
After you do end up writing the ebook, you have to obviously write a salesletter. For an example of a ebook salesletter you can check out this one about glass etching. The salesletter here talks about all the benefits to ordering the information to etch glass. It talks about saving money, time, and frustration which is aimed at helping people. That is the kind of information people would be willing to buy. Althought this salesletter is okay, I think it can be drastically improved and that means much more conversions. If you look at salesletters almost all of them are way too salesy. I honestly think that today, you should make them not appear as advertisement with alot of hardcore sales pitches. While this may have worked in the good ole days, it most likely won’t work as good today. Saleletters like these have been all over the internet for the past few years and internet users start to realize all the bullshit. Some will even think their scams and leave right away. Taking out the fluffy sales pitch and replacing it with words you would use if talking to a friend. But you still need a “call to action”; just don’t go overboard with them.
If your a newbie to creating a ebook, you can always check out other authors ebooks and see what kind of quality and time you would be spending on writing. Also check out their salesletters suggest as the glass etching example and think of a way that would convince people to buy without appearing too pushey.
