Competition Analysis & Keyword Research go Hand in Hand !
So your optimizing your website for the web and are looking for the appropriate keywords to go for, most people use their keyword tools to see which terms are being searched and how much competition they have. Although that is the proper method its always good to manually dig around, by that I mean check which websites are on page one for those terms and then see what they are doing, how did they get #1 and what keywords they optimized for. Taking a look at that will give you an idea on how to structure your search engine optimization for your website, which keywords to use as primary and which to use as secondary, how many links would you need to your site compared to those on sites on page 1 and so on. Its always good to sty ahead of your competition, know what they are doing and for what reason so that you can overtake them!
