How Article Submission Helps Internet Marketing
Writing an article and submitting it to on-line publications can help your Internet marketing efforts. Unlike off-line publications, getting published on-line is not all that difficult. Here’s how such article writing and submission can help on-line marketing.
You identify the words that customers are using to search for your kind of product or service at the search engines. These words, known as keywords, are available at keyword repositories such as WordTracker and Keyword Discovery. Write an article that will interest your customers (say an article of tips on how to use your product to best advantage).
Include a reasonable number of relevant keywords in your article. Place them in headings subheadings and in the body. Use synonyms and related words instead of “stuffing” the article with the same keyword phrase in an irritating manner.
Now submit the article to article directories and newsletters. You will be able to find these by searching and looking around the Web. Provided your article meets the minimum requirements of the publication, it will be published.
Because the article is “optimized” for the words that on-line shoppers use to search for your product or service, it is likely to appear when a reader of the article directory searches it for tips on the product or service. Even otherwise, the strong search engine rank of the article directory can push up your article in search engine rankings, and show it when the prospective customer searches on the Web (and not just the article directory).
The result will be that your article will land in front of prospective customers. If the article is really helpful, it can impress the reader and make that person favorably inclined towards you.
Article directories typically allow you to include a live link to your website (or your email address) in an author bio shown at the bottom of the article. Using this link, the interested reader can then contact you. If the person lands on a page of your website make sure that the page contains excellent sales copy. Good sales copy is not obvious sales pitch, but a presentation of the benefits of your product or service in a certain manner as to create buying desire.
The above in essence is how you use article submission to market your product or service. In practice, you will have to do some experimentation to find which kind of article and which directories bring the desired response.
One incidental benefit of article submission is that the live links to your website can create link popularity for your website, pushing up its search engine rankings. For this, you will need to publish numerous articles in reputed article directories, all with links that include relevant keywords.
