Targeted web site traffic is what you get if you have effective search engine optimization for your web site. Want proof? What terms did you enter at the search engine to get to this page? I’d bet it had something to do with web site traffic or search engine optimization. If not you probably don’t belong here and definitely are not targeted web site traffic. However 95% of arrived as highly targeted traffic.
Effective search engine optimization will bring you target traffic. Of course how much traffic you get depends on how high you are ranked. I would expect good optimization to get you one the first page. Great optimization should get your web site at least a #5 and truly expert would get you to 1-3. The number 1 position gets 40% of all search traffic as a general rule.
You’ve probably heard horror stories about how hard it is to optimize for search engines and get rankings high enough to generate decent amounts of traffic. Lol, I always find those stories amusing and you certainly here them a lot from the guru’s. Of course that’s a guru’s business isn’t it. Getting you to buy an optimization product is his goal. He can’t sell you anything if he tells you it’s easy.

I was putting up a new site yesterday, a blog about nothing. It’s called miscellaneous talk because I’m going to use it for various different posts and to get links to posts and pages on my other websites and blogs.
Just so you know, it’s a wordpress blog and I use a few plugins on it. One for title, description and keywords, one for social bookmarking and another for adsense ads.
I also have a thing in it that pings google to let it know there has been a new post and to come look at it for inclusion in the google blog search. Unfortunately that was the first thing I put in.
Like a dummy I put it in before the site was done and while creating the site I’d made a few test posts and tried a few different arrangements. Then I discovered a problem with some of the links not working.
