Preparations For Our Zoo’s Grand Opening
It was the grand opening at our local zoo here in Minnesota. The event was fabulous and there were vendors there too to attract more hype and attention. It was the event of the spring in our little town by far.
To accommodate the crowds they visitor center and concession stand was over-staffed to meet the needs of the paying visitors. There was blocked off street parking set aside and I heard they were considering an offsite parking area with a shuttle to the location and back. Pequot Lakes toilet rentals were lining the sidewalks just outside the zoo as well; there are permanent restroom and drinking fountain structures, but for this special occasion they provided more restrooms for the crowds.
The animals seemed to do fine and no freak accidents happened. Workers were on watch and some officials were watching to make sure that the zoo visitors were acting as law abiding citizens. The animals stayed on schedule reported the zoo that the daily feedings and maintenance was up to and on schedule even while during open park hours.
The zoo is a great attraction that the town desperately needed. It can help draw the attraction to our town especially on weekends and holidays. Even weekdays for younger, pre-school aged kids will keep a constant flow alive.
