A New SEO Twist for Real Estate Websites
Real Estate webmasters have long been close followers of SEO practices and have gotten themselves in some trouble by abusive practices in the recent past. Especially in the large real estate link exchange networks that were popular just a few years ago. While these networks are all but gone, many older websites who have long since shutdown their massive link exchange campaigns are still benefiting from the lingering effects.
Today you will hear most of these webmasters stressing quality content, blogging, social networking, and legitimate one-way link building. To be honest, I would have to agree that this community is now on the right track. However many are still missing a very large source of internet traffic and the majority have yet to effectively integrate their blog’s marketing efforts into their lead generating property-search sites.
Many are still using framed gateway or java scripted home-searches on their lead generating sites, thus the 1,000s of property-listing pages are not resident on their website and are not being indexed by search engines to their credit. Thus the many long tail visits generated by MLS#, neighborhood, and school name searches are being completely lost by these types of websites. An integrated IDX or RETS based property-search-engine in lieu of a framed or scripted implementation is an absolute must in my opinion.
The next migration path I expect to see within this community is the evolution of a fully integrated platform with the ability to fully integrate the site’s blog-marketing-content with a fully functional internal property-search-engine.
